BOOKS
  • Teach Me by R. A. Nelson - I finished this book a couple of weeks ago, and though a lot of people might cringe at a story where the love interest is at least twenty years older than the main character, I didn't. Especially since the book was well-written, and the emotions, the problems that arose from this 'forbidden' relationship made me want more and more and more. I couldn't put this book down. It was just that good. Nine's voice was so vivid and loud and real that it was a shocker to find out that a man wrote this book, because really, you couldn't even tell. This book wasn't just about a romance between a student and her teacher, or a teenage girl and a man, but it was about forgiveness. It was about what obsession could do to you and the people you loved. Teach Me was an amazing book, and if you haven't read it, go but it now.
  • Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers - I was already blown away by Cracked Up to Be, but when I opened up SGA and started reading, I had to put it down a couple of times. Not because it bad, because it was far from that, it was one of the best books I've read thus far, but I had to keep putting it down, because Regina's voice tore me apart. The things she had been through, her relationship with Michael, it just made me feel some type of way, and there were moments when I cried because the story felt so real, and it just made me fall more in love with Courtney Summers' writing style, her books, her characters. There was a bit more romance in SGA than there was in CUtB, but trust me when I say that this book was brilliant, amazing, and just...WOW. I have a feeling all of Miss Summers books are going to be like that.
LIFE
  • Tomorrow is my last day of school, and in 2.5 months I will officially be a junior, which means I have two more years left of high school or one considering how you look at it.
  • I went camping over the weekend, and surprisingly had a great time. Met some new people, hiked, sat around a campfire, slept in a cabin, ate smores, made mountain pies, and did a whole bunch of other stuff that I didn't think I would have fun doing. It was so peaceful out in the middle of nowhere, and oh my goodness, the lake, the trees, the fresh air, the stars, all of it was just so beautiful, and perfect. I hope I get to go again next year.

And that is all for my Tuesday in Twos, hopefully next week I'll have something to tease from, especially since I won't be in school. Have a great day everyone!
