What's Up Wednesday is a weekly meme started by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk where writers post about what's up by answering four questions. If you want to participate, you can click on either one of the links.

WHAT I'M READING

I haven't been doing a lot of reading, which isn't a good thing. I want to take some time to do that this week, especially since I won't have to do it once school starts back up. I go back next month!

WHAT I'M WRITING

I'm still working on Unfair although I might take a break from it sometime this week to work on my side project, Love in the Time of Comic Con. It's a YA Contemporary Romance that is about 5K so far. I love my main character, Jet. She's so much fun to write and she's a nerd like me, which is something I really like. I've never been to Comic Con (I'm going to go one of these days!) so working on this story gives me an excuse to watch all of the Comic Con related videos on YouTube and pin pictures from the convention on Pinterest. Not that I don't do that every year anyways hehe.

WHAT INSPIRES ME RIGHT NOW

This post on anger. Camellia, the main character of Unfair, is very angry. While it doesn't show all the time, because she does a great job of hiding it, it's really interesting to think about the different ways to show anger without actually using the word. It's a great post and I think it will help make my writing a lot stronger.

WHAT ELSE I'VE BEEN UP TO

I worked out a lot during the school year but once summer vacation came around, I got really lazy. I have been working out on and off but lately I have decided that I want to try to be more consistent with my routine so, when school starts, I can keep at it. So far, it's going really good. It's kicking my butt but I know it'll be worth it in the long run.

I also revamped the blog! It took awhile for me to find a template that I liked but I settled on this one because I LOVE the birds, for reasons that are probably obvious lol

So...how's your week going so far?

And very pretty your blog is, too :D

I want to go to SDCC one day. It looks amazing every year. Have fun using it to research your WIP :)

Your new blog design is gorgeous! I love birds, so I'm partial. I've never been to Comic Con either, but it's kind of one of those bucket list things for me too. LOVE IN THE TIME OF COMIC CON is an excellent title and definitely sounds like a book I'd pick off the shelf! Best of luck with the writing and the working out this week! :)

Both your books sound like books I would buy, so hurry up and finish them so I can! Love In the Time of Comic Con is a brilliant title. Congratulations on working out. For some reason, writing and being in shape don't naturally fit into my life together. It's kind of an either/or thing. I'm working to change that though. Your blog is beautiful. Have a great week!

I love the raven background! Actually, the whole blog redesign looks great! Love the title for your Comic Con story. So clever! Sounds like things are going well on the writing front. UNFAIR is coming along well. :-) Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Your WIP sounds so much fun! I love your new blog design, too. :) Have a great week!

I've always wanted to do to Comic Con. I hope we can both go someday. Good luck with your WiPs. Thanks for sharing. :D

Love your premise and your title! What a fun play off of Love in the Time of Cholera. (One of my favorite books)

Good luck with your writing this week and your fitness goals! :)

Thank you! And SDCC does like it would be so much fun! I'm hoping I can go sometime in the near future, instead of later on. I'd like to still be able to go to the panels of tv shows I like before they come to an end.

Thanks Erin! I just really feel in love with the silhouette look these birds have.

I'm glad you like the title! It just came to me one day and it was too good not to think up a story to go along with it. Good luck with your writing this week too! :)

Hehe I'll try. :) And thank you!

To be completely honest, working out wasn't my thing either until this year. My friends had a lot to do with that, plus it feels good to move around after sitting on my butt for hours writing lol Thanks for stopping by!

Nice theme for your blog.

Thank you! I'm glad it turned it nice. I changed it quite a few times before it just felt right. Unfair is coming along better than I thought it was this summer. More-so plotting than writing wise but I made a lot of progress since the beginning, so I can't complain. I hope you have a wonderful week as well, Jaime! :)

It is a lot of fun! Which is something I'm happy about because it seems like I don't write enough fun stories, they're always dark and serious which don't fit my personality AT ALL. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm glad you like the blog design, Jess. I think it's definitely a step up from the last one. Thanks and have a good week too!

I hope we can go one day too! It just looks like it would be a wonderful experience, even if it's just a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing. Good luck with your writing as well!

I have not read Love in the Time of Cholera *ducks* but I like the title so much that I thought of it when I was coming up with the title for my wip. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Haha, I love the name of your contemporary! As you know, I'm going this year (my 2nd), and I hope you get to come out soon too. My first year there got me hooked. It's a stressful (at times) but amazing experience. I'll be sure to take extra photos for you - you know, for research. ;)

Love the blog redesign. I love birds too. My sister knows this so well that when she saw the Portlandia skit "Put a Bird on it," she immediately sent it to me, lol. Oh and thanks for linking that "anger" post. Very interesting and yes, helpful!

Re: the World Cup - this was my first year really paying attention to it too! My sister was really into it the last time around, but I think she was following the German team since the World Cup before that. It's definitely more fun when you're cheering for someone...and when you have people who can explain stuff to you, lol. So I enjoyed it a lot more this year! (Felt really bad for Brazil, but they had a pretty great run. The semi-finals!)

I've never been to Comic Con, but I definitely plan to go someday. Also, while not required, it's nice to have an excuse to pin it ;D

I love the new blog theme!

It's amazing how easy research is these days with the internet, YouTube, etc. You can write novels set in places you've never visited, and have your characters do things you would never usually get the opportunity to do. All it takes are some great online resources and a huge helping of imagination.

All the best to you, Raven!
