Love in the Time of Comic Con

The title is a play on Love in the Time of Cholera (I've never read it but...I like the title) and it was influenced by my nerdiness as well as my dream of one day going to Comic Con. I won't give out all the details of this story, as it's still a baby, but basically it's about a girl named Georgette a.k.a. Jet who is struggling to be both who her parents want her to be and who she wants to be. I'll let you guys know more about it once I get farther into the story wordcount-wise but in the meantime, I'll post the playlist and the first few lines.

First Line(s): If photographs are worth a thousand words, then our monthly family portraits are books with lies written on every page. As Dad puts his camera on the tripod, I'm reminded of the first line of Anna Karenina. It's about as far as I got with that monster of a book but that part about unhappy families being unhappy in their own way stuck with me long after I read it.
